Mentoring
A mentor is almost like a role modle or a teacher. A mentor guides you and helps you make decisions to get you where you want to go. Mentors can guide you in anyway you want them to, such as they can give you advice on what to do in our carrer field, or our own personal life.
I was excited to see you in the Lessons in Leadership class yesterday. I agree with your ideas regarding what makes a mentor. I also think that mentoring is one of the most powerful leadership roles. See you this afternoon. :)
Jim, I also like your thoughts on what a mentor is. When answering the questions posted on ch.4, I thought it was great the you used the Harry Potter story to help illustrate your point. I think a lot of people can relate to those books! I am still on the 6th book so I don't think Ive gotten to that part yet! I admire people who can use stories to explain things because that is one of my less developed skills.
Okay, I have a task for you. Take what we learned from class last week...Goals/vision/enlising others and put one on your goals on your blog in the same format we did in class: Past Accomplishment: Why was that accomplishment important to you? New Goal: Steps to get there (you create timeframe): WHO can help you get there? WHY will they help you get there? HOW will they help you get there? -Jose
My name is Jim Proudfit I am 25 and the rest will explain its self. I was in a car accident when in November of 1988. A car coming towards us slid on some ice and hit us. The result of that was a head injury which affected my left side. Everything I do or how I act towards people is all because of the car crash. I was brought up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Which probably defines me best. I'm a LDS member who has a disability.

Hopefully we can all have mentors that believe our careers are worth advancing, that care enough about us to share their knowledge.
